Additionally, biodiversity is important for maintaining the balance of ecosystems, ensuring the long-term sustainability of life on , human activities such as deforestation, pollution, climate change, and over exploitation of natural resources are causing a biodiversity crisis with catastrophic consequences for the environment and human society. The loss of biodiversity can lead to the collapse of critical ecosystem services, making it more difficult to provide basic needs for the worlds growing population. Therefore, it is crucial to protect and conserve requires a combination of government policies, education and awareness-raising, scientific research, and community engagement.
